The Youth Red Cross unit of the college has been established on the fundamental principles of HUMANITY, IMPARTIALLY, INDEPENDENCE, SERVICE, UNITY and UNIVERSALITY with the objective of
1 . Training the zealous students to develop a sense of social service.
2 . Promoting the potentialities of the students to render skilled philanthropic service.
3 . Promoting health, hygiene and sanitation among the members of the community.
4 . Promoting friendship and developing leadership qualities and traits of personality among the students.
Organizing training courses on First Aid, health camps, blood grouping and donation camps, AIDS awareness and eradication drives, tree plantation and afforestation programmes, extending financial and other such help to disabled and needy students and other activities.

6 . The working committee decides and plans the different programmes to be undertaken by the YRC Unit.
During 2001-2002,2002-2003, & 2003-2004, the YRC Unit of the college regularly organised a number of blood donation camps, plantation programmes and health camps. The YRC Counsellors have attended State level Councellors training camps and have been trained to motivate the students to follow the values espoused by the Red Cross Movement.
During the academic session 2005-2006 which also happens to be the “DIAMOND JUBILEE YEAR” of the college, 76 students and members of the staff donated their blood at Cuttack, on the occasion of Blood Bank Donors Day on 14th June 2005.
During this session, the YRC Unit has planned to organize a First Aid Training Camp/ Blood Grouping camp to prepare a database of the blood groups of the students from Blood Donation Camps, Aids Awareness programmes and training on Disaster Management and Mitigation.
The Youth Red Cross Society of this college is striving had to induce among the students the spirit of acive involvement in the service of the community by organising Blood Donation Camps,First Aid Training Camps & the like.
1 . On 26th August,2007 a Blood Donation Camp was organized in the college in which 69 students donated their blood voluntarily.The camp was inaugurated by Prof. S.R. Roy, the Principal and Chairman of YRC Society of Christ College.The technical assistance for conducting this camp was provided by the Central Red Cross Blood Bank,Cuttack.A blood group testing camp was also arranged on that day where 26 students and some members of the staff got their blood groups tested.
2 . The second blood donation camp was held on 18th December, 2007 in which 35 students and some members of staff donated their blood.This camp was also enaugurated by the Principal Prof. S.R. Roy and the technical assistance was provided by the Central Red Cross Blood Bank,Cuttack.
3 . The Youth Red Cross unit of Christ College was feliciated by the Central Red Cross Blood Bank on 14th June,2008 on the occasion of World Blood Donation Day by sri Tuhinkanta Pandey,the Health Secretary ,Govt. of Orissa.
4 . During the academic session 2007-08,the YRC unit of this college contributed a sum of Rs.20,296.00(Rupees twenty thousand two hundred ninety six only) for the activities of the State Red Cross,Orissa.
The Youth Red Cross Society of this college is striving hard to induce among the students the spirit of active involvement in the service of the community by organizing Blood Donation Camps,First Aid Training Camps and the like.
1 . On 22nd January,2009 a Blood Donation Camp was organized in the college in which 60 students donated their blood voluntarily.The camp was inagurated by Prof. P.R. Harichandan,the Principal and Chairman of YRC Society of Christ College.The technical assistance for conducting this camp was provided by the Central Red Cross Blood Bank,Cuttack.
2 . The Youth Red Cross unit of Christ College was felicitated by the Central Red Cross Blood Bank on 14th June 2009 on the occasion of World Blood Donation Day.
3 . During the academic session 2008-09,the YRC unit of this college contributed a sum of Rs.10,178.00(Rupees ten thousand one hundred seventy eight only) for the activities of the State Red Cross,Orissa.
The Youth Red Cross Unit of the college has taken up a number of activities and organized different programmes to generate an interest among the students regarding their responsibility towards the society. The activities are as follows:
1 . The YRC unit organized a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp on 3rd August,2009.The camp was inagurated by the Principal Prof.P.R. Harichandan.The students of the college willingly participated in the camp and 54 students and members of the staff donated their blood.The Central Red Cross Blood Bank,Cuttack rendered technical assistance for conducting the camp.
